What is High Five Spaceship?
What is High Five Spaceship, you might ask?
Not quite a band. Not quite a solo project. Something a little bit in between. Lots of good things are like that.
At its core, High Five Spaceship is a collaborative music project spearheaded by Christopher Bingham, a 33 year old creative from North East London, UK. He began producing music under the moniker in 2009 while attending the University of Lincoln, and has since adopted another pseudonym (Dreaming Pills) for other - purely solo - music. In the span of the last 14 years, HFS has released (at least) 16 singles, 8 EPs, and 9 full-length albums, incorporating the collaboration of over a dozen individuals. Inspiration is drawn from a grand variety of places; prog rock, hip-hop, pop, electronica. All these genres and more are on the table when it comes to this project.
Bingham himself has dipped his toes into other creative endeavours; he's best known for his work on YouTube with creator TomSka between 2008 and 2012, as well as producing his own comic (Captain Baculum) and acting as current Head of Operations for the animated series Eddsworld. In his own words, he's a multi-disciplinary internet creator who can't choose what to focus on.
Regardless, High Five Spaceship is still soaring through the stratosphere, cruising at its own pace.
Let's see where we land next.
